Shanghai Fried Rice
Chinese-inspired fried rice with chopped meat, vegetables and eggs in oyster sauce
Ingredients
- cooking oil 2 tbsp (30 ml)
- leftover meat (longanisa, ham, hotdog, tapa) 1/4 cup (60 g)
- garlic 1 tbsp (9 g)
- carrot 1/4 cup (40 g)
- MAGGI® Oyster Sauce 2 tbsp (30 ml)
- rice 4 cups (120 g)
- MAGGI® Chicken Powder 1 tbsp (10 g)
- egg 3 pcs
- green peas 1/4 cup (40 g)
Preparation

1In a saute pan, heat oil then stir-fry the chopped meats to extract the flavor. Put on one side of the pan.

2Add more oil if necessary and saute the garlic for 30 seconds or until light brown.

3Stir in the carrots and saute for 1 minute or until slightly cooked.

4Add in the MAGGI® Oyster Sauce and saute with the vegetables and the meat for 30 seconds.

5Stir in half of the beaten eggs and saute until cooked.

6Add in the cooked rice. Mix well until the oyster sauce and other ingredients are well incorporated into the rice.

7When the rice is warmed, around 2 - 3 minutes, season with MAGGI® Chicken Powder and black pepper.

8Add in the green peas and half of the egg. Mix to distribute the egg.

9Let the rice cook over medium heat without stirring for 30 seconds before serving.
