Chicken Pastil
Tender shredded chicken sautéed with aromatics and served over warm rice
- chicken breast 1 pc / 350 g
- bayleaf 1 pc / 1 g
- leeks 30 g
- black peppercorn 1 tsp / 1 g
- vegetable oil 1 cup / 250 ml
- garlic 1 head / 60 g
- white onion large 2 pcs / 120 g
- red onions 4 pcs / 210 g

- MAGGI® Professional Magic Sarap 1 tbsp / 8 g
- turmeric powder 1 tsp /3 g
- vinegar 1/4 cup / 60 ml
- MAGGI® Liquid Seasoning 1/4 cup / 60 ml
- bananal leaf
- cooked rice
- boiled egg

1Boil your chicken breast fillet in a pan of water along with the bayleaf, leek, whole peppercorns, and MAGGI® Magic Sarap and simmer until cooked through. This takes about 20 to 30 minutes. When cooked, drain from water and shred. Set aside.

2In a saute pan, brown the ginger then add the onions and the garlic. Saute for 1 minute or until soft then add the shredded chicken. Season with MAGGI® Magic Sarap, turmeric powder, MAGGI® Liquid Seasoning and around 1/4 cup of the chicken stock (boiling liquid). Mix well.

3Add the vinegar and let the mixture boil until the acidity evaporates.

4Let the mixture cook over low heat until the mixture is brown but not burnt. Add a little of the stock to balance the moisture of the chicken. Adjust the seasoning.

5Serve with rice and boiled egg.
