Shawarma Lumpia with Garlic Dip
Chicken, beef, and vegetables with rice and shawarma sauce.
Ingredients
Marinade:
- NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream 2 cups / 500 g
- MAGGI Sinigang 2 tsp
- hot sauce 2 tsp / 10 ml
- black pepper 1 tbsp / 7 g
- MAGGI Beef Stock 2 tbsp /20 g
- all spice 2 tsp
- cumin 2 tbsp
- smoked paprika 1 tbsp / 2 g
- ground beef 1000 g
- garlic 1 tbsp / 9 g
- onion 1 large / 100 g
- mashed potato as needed
- lumpia
Garlic Sauce
- NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream 1 cup / 64 g
- MAGGI Sinigang 1 tsp / 9.86 ml
- Mayonnaise 1/4 cup / 32 g
- Cumin 1 tsp / 2 g
- Garlic 1 tbsp / 6 g
- garlic powder 1/2 tsp
- Cayenne or Hot sauce 1/2 tsp / 1 g
- MAGGI® Magic Sarap 1 tsp / 3 g
Spicy Shawarma Sauce
- Garlic Cream Sauce 1 recipe
- sriracha or any hot sauce 1/4 cup
Cheese Sauce:
- butter / margarine 1/4 cup / 113 g
- all purpose flour 2 tbsp
- Spanish Paprika 1 tsp / 2 g
- Water 1 cup / 250 ml
- MAGGI® Professional Chicken Powder 2 tsp / 10 g
- cheddar cheese 2 cups / 250 g
- Cheese Spread 1/2 cup / 125 ml
- cheddar cheese powder 1/4 cup / 30 g
- NESTLÉ All-Purpose Cream 2 cups / 500 ml
Preparation

1Prepare filling. Combine the marinade ingredients for the Shawarma filling. Add to the ground beef and marinate for 30 minutes at least.

2In a pan, pan sear the ground beef. Set aside and then add the onions and garlic and continue to saute for 1 minute. Add back the seared beef then simmer for at least 1 minute. Cover and cook over low heat until the ground beef is tender, around 30 minutes. Let cool.

3Prepare mashed potato.

4Prepare lumpia wrapper and place a tablespoon or 2 of mashed potato and cooked ground beef. Seal using egg whites or slurry. Chill before frying.

5Deepfry in hot oil until golden brown and crisp. Drain oil and arrange on a platter or tray with prepared rice.

6Serve with garlic cream sauce.

7To prepare Garlic Cream Sauce, combine and mix the NESTLE All Purpose Cream and MAGGI Sinigang until the cream is thickened. Add the rest of the ingredients and use as dip for the fried lumpiang shawarma.

8To make the hot sauce, prepare the same Garlic Cream Sauce and add around 1/4 cup of hot sauce. Mix well.

9To make the Cheese Sauce, melt butter and add flour to make roux. Slowly add the liquid ingredients. When simmering, add the the different cheese formats and MAGGI Chicken Powder. Continue to whisk until thick. Serve with lumpiang shawarma.
