Sinampalukang Manok
Chicken and local vegetables simmered in tamarind broth
- cooking oil 2 tbsp (30 ml)
- garlic 2 tsp (6 g)
- ginger 1 inch (8 g)
- white onion 1 pc (80 g)
- tomato 1 pc (40 g)
- chicken 8 pcs (880 g)
- rice washing 6 cups (1500 ml)
- eggplant 2 pcs (160 g)
- sitao 1/2 tali (160 g)
- MAGGI® Sinigang Soup Mix 3 tbsp (33 g)
- MAGGI® Supreme Seasoning Granules 3 tbsp (24 g)
- dahon ng sili 2 bunches (100 g)

1In a pot, saute the garlic, ginger, onions, and tomatoes in oil until soft and fragrant.

2Add in the sliced chicken and cook over medium low heat until no longer pink and tender, around 15 - 20 minutes, stirring occassionally. When chicken is a little brown and has rendered fat, add the rice washing or water.

3When soup is boiling, stir in the eggplants and sitao.

4Simmer for 1 minute without covering the pot before adding the MAGGI® Sinigang Soup Mix and MAGGI® Supreme Seasoning Granules. Mix well until the seasonings are dissolved.

5Stir in the dahon ng sili, simmer for 10 seconds, then turn off heat. Serve.
