Yakitori
Japanese style grillled chicken in sweet savory glaze
Ingredients
Yakitori Sauce
- 1/4 cup / 59ml MAGGI® Professional Liquid Seasoning
- 2 tbsp / 30ml japanese soy sauce
- 1/3 cup / 79ml mirin
- 1/3 cup / 60ml sake
- 1/4 cup / 59ml water
- 2 tbsp / 25g brown sugar
- 500g chicken thigh
- 2 bunches leeks
- 1 pack fresh mushroom
- 1 tbsp / 8g MAGGI® Professional Magic Sarap
- 1 tbsp /14.7ml ginger juice
Preparation

1Prepare the Yakitori sauce. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer until syrupy and slightly thick.

2Marinate the chicken fillets with MAGGI® Professional Magic Sarap and ginger juice then skewer alternately with leeks and mushroom. Ensure to soak skewers for at least 30 minutes.

3Grill skewers for 5 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink outside. Baste with prepared Yakitori sauce while turning every 20 seconds to ensure even doneness. Grill until the sauce caramelizes and coats the skewers. Test chicken for doneness.
